Small Group Training
All online classes are free to SRC/Chinook members and non-members alike!
Small Group Training offers you a variety of ways to meet your fitness goals in a team environment. Classes are smaller than traditional Group Fitness classes to allow for more one on one time with the trainer & other participants, and are not choregraphed. Each SGT course has a specific goal/theme. Whether you are interested in learning about Olympic Weightlifting, or just the basics of weight training, we have something for you!

Led by a certified personal trainer, Women on Weights will show you how to lift weights properly and how to navigate our facilities. Developed in a 2 week block progression fashion with week one being an intro, participants will sequentially advance in various weight training movements. After completing this course, participants will leave feeling confident how to effectively use the weight room and design their own workouts.
Introduction to Powerlifting
Develop a strong foundation in this 7-week course that will teach how to properly develop full body strength through basic Power Lifting programming. The class will focus on developing the bench press, back squat, and deadlift. Over the duration of this class you will learn proper form, how to set up a strength training program, and become prepared to step into the powerlifting world whether the goal be competition or recreational.
Powerlifting: Tier 2
Tier 2: Power Lifting is a continuation of the Intro to Power Lifting course. The foundation of the course will be on strength adaptations though intermediate to advanced program designs to enhance the three competition lifts: the bench, the squat, and the dead lift. Each individual in the group will work at their own ability to achieve strength goals in each lift in a safe and strategic manner based on their own percentages. Early in the program, participants will be tested for their maximum strength output in each lift, and once again at the completion of the 7 weeks.
Introduction to Olympic Weightlifting
Intro to Olympic Lifting is a 7-week course that meets twice a week. You will learn the fundamentals of the Clean, the Jerk, and the Snatch. Along the way, you will also be instructed on how to perform auxiliary lifts to complement the Olympic lifts. A foundation of squatting, pressing & lifting is also included in this strength & conditioning program.
Olympic Weightlifting: Tier 2
Tier 2: Olympic Weightlifting is reserved for those who have already gone through an Intro to Olympic Weightlifting course, or who have experience with the Olympic Lifts (Clean, Jerk & Snatch). Those wishing to join the Tier 2 course will need to show proficiency in each of the lifts as basic technique will not be covered. Rather, participants will be put through intermediate to advanced Olympic Weightlifting programming depending on the level of the group as a whole.
Speed. Power. Agility. Reaction. Quickness These are the skills one needs when playing competitive field and court sports that involve multi-directional speed. This 7 week training course developed by an NSPA Certified Speed and Agility coach will focus on the development of each of the 5 aforementioned factors in order to increase your athletic potential.

This Small Group Training class will focus on high intensity body weight cardio, calisthenics, endurance training and body conditioning. Come prepared with a safe, intact backpack and some books to improve your active lifestyle.
