In each of us lies our best and healthiest selves. Fitness has the power to bring change to every aspect of one’s life. With the rise of depression, obesity, and other related issues, it has become my life journey to bring what I’ve learned into the lives of others. My goal as a trainer is to bring the most up to date and effective training protocols to combat such issues. To give individuals tools they’ll be able to use for the rest of their lives. The approach in which I take with my clients will increase their movement capabilities through scientifically proven methods while also ensuring that their health and fitness goals remain priority. It is my belief, as well as many others in the field, that basic human movements are the guide to pain-free, healthy living while at the same time maximizing performance and individual goals.

My experience as an athlete has brought many lessons, and in its track, complications. Having been through everything from injuries to career ending disappointments, I was able to learn and gain discipline into my current life and athletic endeavors. I believe every individual deserves the “best-of-the-best” to reach their ultimate performance and quality of life. As I continue my own personal journey I hope to inspire anyone to be the best they can be, even if they have trouble seeing their own potential as I have. This is why I choose to be a coach. As Tony Robbins wrote, “To Awaken the Giant Within.”

Chubb, Liz

I have a background in classical ballet, modern dance, as well as recreational sports such as soccer, field hockey, swimming and volleyball. I began teaching ballet and swimming lessons in high school which fed my interest in personal training. Since coming to college, I started running and exercising more and am confident in my exercise regimens. Through my education and experience, I gained a vast knowledge in exercise. My own personal training has had its own ups and downs; I have experienced injuries and setbacks from which I learned how to return from and come out stronger after rehabilitation and tailored training.

 As a personal trainer, I pride myself on my ability to design creative exercise programs that tailored for each individual client. I have knowledge in muscular endurance, strength, hypertrophy as well as cardiovascular endurance and agility training. I love being in a supportive, active environment and am ready to help you reach your goals!

My fitness journey began at a young age in martial arts and weightlifting. Since then, I have done my very best to live a physically active lifestyle. However, the art of Muay Thai kickboxing, and the practice of power lifting are where my deepest passions lie. Originally, I found that living a physically active lifestyle was a fun way to relieve stress and spend my down time.  As my ambitions grew, and my knowledge expanded, I became infatuated with the human body and physical fitness. I wanted to learn more, and understand how I could continue to benefit myself and help those close to me. This is what led me to become a nationally certified personal trainer.  I believe that by appropriately challenging one’s self we are able to truly grow and understand who we really are. The safest and most effective way to do that - in my opinion - is through healthy living and physical fitness.

If there’s one thing that I can achieve in this life, it’s being able to make a positive difference in other people’s lives. However, I believe that training is more than just working out and eating well. To me, training is about developing good habits and ultimately creating a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle that exists far beyond the gym walls. My mission as your trainer isn’t just to teach you how to work out; it’s to provide you with the knowledge, tools, and support necessary to find your own passions within a healthy lifestyle, and to achieve your goals all while having an enjoyable time. If you love health and fitness, then I believe that we will get along and have a lot of good times through our sessions together. Goncharuk, Bogdan

Getting into an exercise routine can be tough! There is not enough time; I don’t know what to do; I don’t feel confident enough to go to the gym; I have tried many times but things keep getting in the way; I just DO NOT enjoy moving--these are all valid reason for not wanting to get in and exercise. That is what I am here for! With close, one-on-one training, I will help you overcome your barriers and ease you into a program that is enjoyable for you. By the end of our program you will be a more confident and independent exerciser and you will be ready to influence others in adopting active lifestyles!

Although I’ve been active since I was a kid, I am NOT disconnected with the challenges of starting or coming back to an active life style. I have been instructing Body Pump and Indoor Cycling classes at University Recreation for the past several years for participants of a wide range of abilities and experiences. Also, I have a background in Exercise Science and Psychology that aids me both physical and emotional aspects of training. My passion for personal training began in my household. I was different from my family in that fitness has always been a part of my life. I grew up playing multiple sports year-round and continuously made active life choices. My family did not have the same mindset and lived a mostly sedentary lifestyle. I had the opportunity to help my family begin their fitness journey, and I would thoroughly enjoy helping you take the first steps toward a better you!

I am currently studying to receive my bachelors in exercise science, and something I have developed tremendous passion for is the never-ending process of growing ones knowledge.  I believe together we can learn and grow as we develop and reach new heights. Exercise and nutrition are integral parts of life for endurance athletes as well as the average person. Regular activity combined with a healthy diet not only improves the way you feel, but also the way you perform physical and mental tasks throughout the day.

Throughout high school I was a year-round athlete competing in baseball and wrestling throughout Western Washington. Being involved in two vastly different sports I had to learn to find ways to improve strength and speed for wrestling, while also improving balance, stability, and control for baseball. I have attended various clinics for baseball skill development including a course on increasing strength and flexibility to increase a pitcher of any size’s throwing velocity.

Thankfully, with finding Olympic Weightlifting and Crossfit, I have developed confidence, goal setting skills and competitive drive to lead me towards success in my lifestyle and career choices. As long as you’re willing to put in the time and work, I will give you the assistance and guidance necessary to accomplish them.

Fitness has always been an important part of my life. In high school I was a three sport athlete that found success with hard work, dedication, and putting the time into the gym. I have 6 years of weightlifting experience and have done many different styles of training including strength training, hypertrophy training, weight loss, and improving functional movements. I have also been able to use my knowledge of exercise and Kinesiology to greatly reduce lower back pain from an injury obtained playing High School Football. My style of training focuses primarily on doing exercises through complete range of motion while maintaining good posture and structural integrity of the body in order to maximize results and target different muscle groups most effectively. I feel confident in my ability to help any client achieve any goal, while improving fitness and overall health.
