Are you interested in becoming a UREC Group Fitness Instructor? Our Fitness Instructor Training (FIT) course can be your first step to teaching group classes and inspiring active, healthy living.
The 12-Week FIT Course
FIT is a combination of lecture and practical application that covers the basics of group exercise instruction. We designed it for those with no prior experience in group fitness. Topics include:
- Exercise Selection
- Cueing and Choreography
- Injury Prevention...and much more!

Our Summer FIT course will begin on May 13, 2019, meeting Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 PM at the SRC. Stay tuned for our Fall courses.
*FIT will not meet on May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
If you have a current national certification and prior instruction experience, check out our FIT Express course. A national certification includes a general (Group Fitness from ACE, AFAA, etc.) and/or format-specific certifications (Les Mills, Zumba, XPole, etc.).
Our next FIT Express will run July 16 and 17 at the Chinook.
