Chinook Student Center Credit

Undergraduate students who were charged a mandatory $98 fee to use the new Chinook Student Center will receive a $40 credit due to the delayed opening of the facility.

Delayed construction resulted in the center opening in phases, one floor at a time. The first floor opened February 20, followed by the ground floor April 1. The basement level is expected to open in late April. Original plans called for the center to open early in the spring semester, which began January 9.   • How will students receive the Chinook Student Center credit?

    The credit will be processed in myWSU. This will show as a negative $40, titled “Pullm Chinook Stdnt Ctr Credit” to your student account.  For those students with an outstanding balance, the credit will apply to any outstanding charges. Those with a $0 balance will receive a direct deposit payment or a check for $40. 

  • When will this be posted to my account?

    The Chinook Student Center Credit will be posted to student accounts by April 21, 2017.  If a refund is due to a student, it will be processed no later than May 10, 2017.  

  • Will all students receive the Chinook Student Center Credit?

    Only students who paid the full Chinook Student Center fee of $98 will receive the credit. These are Pullman undergraduate students with 7 or more credits who are currently enrolled.

  • Will I receive the credit if my account was paid by a third party guarantor?

    Students who had the Chinook Student Center fee paid by a third party guarantor or waived will receive the credit. The credit will be returned to the third party guarantor or the waiver will be reduced.  Examples of third party guarantors are Boeing, Veterans Administration and Athletics.

  • What is the quickest way for me to receive the $40 if I qualify?

    The quickest and easiest way to receive the funds is through direct deposit. Please login to myWSU (my.wsu.edu) to verify and update your information if necessary.   If direct deposit is not chosen, a check will be issued to the student’s primary mailing address.  If a check is preferred, please update this address on my.wsu.edu.

  • How will I be impacted if I bought a voluntary membership?

    Those who purchased a voluntary membership will not be impacted by the $40 credit. People with memberships will be contacted directly by University Recreation staff.

  • Will this impact my financial aid?

    No, the credit will not impact financial aid.
